My sequel to New Yesterdays is progressing very nicely after languishing for so long in various folders. Notes upon notes upon notes are finally giving up a few nuggets. Here’s a little quick read from Changed Tomorrows.
“I’ve heerd about ye, boy. I know all about ye!” Spittle, stained brown by the tobacco he chewed trickled from the corner of his mouth, permanently staining the hairs of his scraggly rust-colored beard.
“Yessir, I hear tell you move backards and far’ards ‘tween here and the past. That so, boy? You can do that? You some kinda witch or somethin’?”
Jim’s heart was beating so fast he thought it might burst right through his ribcage and land at his feet. Ideas were flying around his head just as fast. He cut his eyes over to Dustu and mustered all the bravado he could.
“Mister Lucious, it sounds like to me you’ve been hearing tales from the bottom of a bottle. Did your saloon friends on the other side of the border tell you that stuff?” He quickly scanned the area, trying to find an escape route as a new idea dawned in his mind.
“Don’t make no difference where I heerd it. Only thing you need to worry about is gittin’ me to the future with you!”
So… are you ready for this new tale?
Sounds good, Jim. Mister Lucious…… love that name 🙂

Way back in the mists of time, I knew a man named Lucious. I’m so glad I could use his name in this tale!
