New Yesterdays: A Journey Through Time, Identity, and the Fight for Freedom

Step into the enthralling world of New Yesterdays by Jim L Wright, a gripping historical novel that seamlessly blends time travel, rich cultural heritage, and the unbreakable bonds of friendship and loyalty. When young Jim, a modern-day teenager, stumbles upon a portal that transports him back to the early 19th century, he finds himself among the Cherokee and Seminole people. Immersed in a time of upheaval, Jim must navigate the complexities of a world on the brink of monumental change while confronting profound questions of identity and belonging.

As Jim forms deep connections with Dustu, a Cherokee boy, and gains the wisdom of Adahy, a revered elder, he becomes an integral part of their struggle for sovereignty. Together, they stand against the relentless expansion of settlers, fighting not just for land but for the preservation of their way of life. New Yesterdays reimagines pivotal historical events, offering a fresh perspective that challenges conventional narratives.

Poised to be one of the historical fiction bestsellers of 2025, this novel invites the reader to ponder the possibilities of yesterday and how a single choice can alter the course of history. Jim L Wright masterfully weaves themes of time travel, cultural identity, and the enduring power of community. About Ol' Big Jim

Jim L Wright has been a storekeeper, an embalmer, a hospital orderly, and a pathology medical coder, and through it all, a teller of tall tales. Many of his stories, like his first book, New Yesterdays, are set in his hometown of Piedmont, Alabama. For seven years he lived in the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, Amman, Jordan where he spent his time trying to visit every one of the thousands of Ammani coffee shops and scribbling in his ever-present notebook. These days he and his husband, Zeek, live in a cozy little house in Leeds, Alabama. He’s still scribbling in his notebooks when he isn’t gardening or refinishing a lovely bit of furniture. His book, New Yesterdays, can be found at Amazon US, Amazon UK, Smashwords, and Barnes and Noble.
