Lilith – Adam’s First Wife

Of all the creation myths, I’ve always been fascinated by the story of Lilith. She’s a willful, headstrong woman who refuses to put up with Adam’s dictatorial bullshit. The story goes that the couple just couldn’t get along, constantly arguing. And, when it came to sex it was even worse. Adam demanded that he be the top at all times. Lilith, however, wanted a bit of variety. She wanted to top him from time to time. She wanted, and demanded, equality. “Nothing doing,” says Adam, you’ll bloody well do as you’re told! So, off she went. You can read the wonderful details of the story over at The Gnosis Archive. Pop over and give it a read, I’m sure you’ll love the story if you aren’t familiar with it and, if you are familiar with it you’ll enjoy refreshing the story in your mind. Just click the link and you’ll be flying like Lilith!

About Ol' Big Jim

Ol' Big Jim, has been a storekeeper, an embalmer, a hospital orderly, a medical biller, and through it all, a teller of tall tales. Many of his stories, like his first book, New Yesterdays, are set in his hometown of Piedmont, Alabama. For seven years, he lived in the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, Amman, Jordan where he spends his time trying to visit each one of the thousands of Ammani coffee shops and scribbling in his ever-present notebook. These days, you can find him back stateside, still filling notebooks.

Love Lilith! She was supposedly the ‘first vampire’, too, you know. In a book I wrote, she had two daughters, both witches. Yeah, took off on a tangent but she’s still a great woman in my world.
